I joined ClickThrough in January 2021, right as the country went into another lockdown to counter the pandemic. What a time to start!
I am a Digital Context Executive, so I create engaging, optimised content for clients that matches their tone of voice and brand. That includes blog posts, work on social media, eBooks, infographics or emails – as well as the copy that can be found of a client’s website.
In previous employment, I have worked in a similar role for a Students’ Union focusing predominantly on email content and blog posts. I’ve also done marketing agency work in the past but was more focused on the SEO side of things, as well as doing more ‘general’ marketing for a local Fastener company. I can certainly tell you a lot about student life and nuts and bolts, that is for sure.
I studied English Literature & Journalism at Staffordshire University before going on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing Management – so I know all about the right tone of voice.
Working as a Digital Content Executive means no day is the same – you are working on different clients all the time, who all require different levels of creativity, different tones and have different brand strategies that need to be taken into account.
There is such a wealth of knowledge around the company, but so many interesting personalities too. I have been made to feel very welcome despite working remotely, and I love that the company is invested in not only their clients but their staff too – you’re not a part of the furniture, you’re a part of an ever growing, ever important collective.
I think sports journalism. I have got an avid interest in writing about football and instead of pursuing it as a career, I do it as a hobby instead.
Definitely a top chef, but someone still young like Jordi Cruz. I would try and pick up as much as I could so that I could transplant it back into my normal life and be able to make some amazing meals for myself, my friends and colleagues. I can cook, but nowhere near that level!
I’m always looking to learn new things, so I try and pick up something every six months. I’ve dabbled in graphic design, audio editing and I’m currently learning digital drawing even though I can’t draw at all on paper. I enjoy gaming, reading and exploring little towns or villages that I normally wouldn’t go to day-to-day.
A lot of my free time is devoted to a blog and podcast that I run and looking after my cat, Cora, as well as enjoying time with friends and family.
