Last month, the ClickThrough Marketing team played a mixed netball match to raise money for Diabetes UK.
Tuesday 14th November 2017 was World Diabetes Day, and in recognition of people suffering with diabetes, the ClickThrough team played a netball match… in fancy-dress!
Our efforts in the match were in aid of helping towards finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, as there have been an increasing number of medical advancements over recent years. Our goal? To raise £300.
Our Inbound Content Writer, Bryony George, suffers with Type 1 diabetes and organised the event herself, which involved mixed teams and fancy-dress costumes. We had everything from a banana, unicorns, and characters from Stranger Things to superheroes and cartoon favourites.
The match took place after work at Beacon Park Courts in Lichfield, around the corner from our office. After a hectic 40 minutes of play, the end score was 8-3. Great game!
From the huge amount of support from donators, we actually managed to exceed our target and raise £590.00 for Diabetes UK. A massive thank you to everyone who donated, and to those who came along to watch and support.
