Could Google Store Views boost online marketing services? Businesses could be set for marketing boost thanks to a new Google Maps product apparently being developed in the United States.

Search Engine Land news editor Barry Schwartz said he was recently tipped off by New York food retailer Oh! Nuts that Google had taken pictures inside its store for a feature named Google Store Views.

Images were taken every six feet in all directions, along with pictures of the shop's product range, he noted.

When complete, the Store Views feature will essentially allow users of Google's Street Views application to "walk into" a store by clicking on its door.

Once the view moves inside, they will be able to move around it and examine what is on offer - potentially providing a value online PR boost for the featured businesses.

According to the most recent data from comScore, Google's US sites handled 9.7 billion queries during December, accounting for 65.7 per cent of the total search market.
